Give nature a hand and enjoy camping at one of west counties most beautiful preserves! Come and join us at the stunning, 1,000-acre Bohemia Ecological Preserve for a weekend of stewardship, community-building, a bit of exercise and some fun! Volunteers will meet at 9am on Saturday, July 20th and depart around 3:00pm on Sunday, July 21st.  Volunteers will steward the land from ~10:00am-3pm on Saturday and 9am-2pm on Sunday (both days with lunch and breaks). 

A detailed itinerary and list of what to bring will be sent out to volunteers who register.    

You are welcome to only come for one day if you cannot make both.

Dinner will be provided for volunteers on Saturday evening and breakfast and lunch will be provided on Sunday. Bring your favorite beverage to share. Snacks during work will also be in abundance :) Donations are appreciated for but not required these meals. 
     
There will be multiple projects available for volunteers to participate in.  Some examples include weeding native plantings, invasive species removal, trail work,  and general preserve clean-up.  Late afternoon and evening will be a time to explore the preserve, read a good book, chat with fellow land stewards, take a swim in the pond, or just take in the beautiful scenery surrounding the campsite.

This will be a camping experience, so volunteers must bring their own camping gear.  LandPaths will provide potable water, extra lighting, and some tables.

No experience necessary.  LandPaths will provide necessary tools and gloves. If you have any tools at home, you may bring them.  Particularly useful tools include weed bags, shovels, loppers, hand saws, weed wrenches, and hand picks.  No power tools please!

Meeting Time,  Location & Directions:

We will meet at 9:00 am at the Bohemia Ecological Preserve north entrance (6773 Bohemian Highway) on Saturday, July. LandPaths staff will direct you to parking.

Directions to Bohemia Ecological Preserve – north gate: The north gate entrance to Bohemia Preserve is located on Bohemian Highway approximately 3.1 miles north of Occidental.  From the intersection of Graton Road and Bohemian Highway, drive north on Bohemian Highway for approximately 2.7 miles , notice a sign for Westminster Woods on your left, continue driving for another .4 miles.  The entrance to the property is on a straight stretch of road, on your right, a few hundred yards after a sweeping left hand turn.  If you pass an area that looks like a quarry on your right, you’ve just passed the property entrance.
