LandPaths invites you to a FREE exciting, outdoor, literary adventure geared towards young children ages 0-6 and their families/caregivers. We will enjoy a tour of Bees N Blooms, take a short walk, play nature games, and engage in read alouds of well-known, nature-based books related to the land we are exploring. Bees N Blooms farm is located at the foot of Taylor Mountain on the Santa Rosa Plain. This CCOF-certified organic farm provides a home for thousands of honeybees and native bees, different  kinds of cut flowers, a lavender labyrinth, a nursery of pollinator-friendly trees and more!  Pre-registration is required.

Experts agree that reading aloud to children is the single most important thing a parent can do to help a child enter kindergarten ready to succeed. An expanding body of scientific evidence also suggest that spending time outdoors contributes to the increase in short term memory, releases endorphins for happier children and adults, improves focus, boosts the imune system and so much more! All the iREAD Outside  sessions have a theme, such as planting seeds or healthy eating,  to help the children unite the material and make personal connections to the stories. According to the Department of Education, the more children read and are read to, the more success they will have in their academic trajectory. iREAD Outside story times offer an ongoing opportunity to model reading out loud to children, explore new places and foster a love of books and nature!
