Connect with nature through the art of nature journaling at stunning Bohemia Ecological Preserve in the hills of West Sonoma County. On a three-mile hike around the creeks, waterways, oaks, madrones, and serpentine ecologies at this wild place, you'll learn about the wonderful plants and animals that live at Bohemia.
Whether you are a seasonal nature journalista or new to the craft, you'll find something to inspire you on this local adventure. By the end of the outing, you'll feel rejuventated and connect to the nature around you. Plus, everyone leaves with a free journal to continue the habit elsewhere!
Registration in advance is required. Bohemia Ecological Preserve is only open to the public during special guided outings with LandPaths.
Cost: $10 dollars for up to four people. Payment due upon registration. Refunds only if cancellations are received at least 48 hours in advance. The fee includes materials for a nature journal.

There is no potable water on the property

We ask that you leave your pets at home for this event.

2 - 3 days before the outing you will receive an email from the lead facilitator with the exact location, driving directions, and parking information
- There are two portapotties on site. This is a rustic property. Please plan accordingly.
Difficulty:
This will be a roughly 3 mile hike with an elevation gain and loss of about 500 feet.
About Bohemia Ecological Preseve
This 1,000 acre protected, open space, people-powered preserve in West Sonoma County teems with old-growth forest, oak woodlands, native grasslands, and a legendary waterfall. Several endangered and at-risk species live here, including northern spotted owls, red tree voles, and Pennell's bird's beak.
What to bring:

Bottle of water, snacks, and lunch for the day

Any pens, markers, pencils you want for journaling.

Comfortable clothing to protect from the sun (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)

Comfortable walking shoes (that can get dirty)

Baby carriers are recommended instead of strollers.

Where we will meet you:
Driving directions, parking details, and exact location of Bohemia Ecological Preserve will be sent 2 to 3 days before the event by us. Parking is limited. You must be registered for the outing to attend. No drop-ins, please! Space is limited to those who register in advance.
Staff:
Our staff is certified in the minimum of CPR and First Aid, and they have training and years of experience working in outdoor spaces. All staff has had their backgrounds checked through fingerprinting.
