Description:

LandPaths and the City of Healdsburg invite you to a community celebration of the winter season at Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve. Go on a self guided hike through the 155-acre preserve and then join the LandPaths team at the summit for a warm cup of cider and all the materials to make your very own wreath. Everyone is invited to join the fun and celebrate this seasonal event! 

Details:  

• This outing is open-house style feel free to come by anytime between 10am to 3pm to join us! 
• We will ask you to sign a waiver of liability
• There is no potable water or restroom on the property
• No smoking allowed on preserve property 
• In case of heavy rain this event will be canceled 

Difficulty:

The hike to Russian River Overlook where the wreath making and cider will be served is a little over half a mile from the trailhead with minimal elevation gain. 

About the area:

The Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve is a 155‐acre property located northeast of Healdsburg. It is a close-to-home opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural world. It lies within the Fitch Mountain Range and encompasses the headwaters of two drainages to the Russian River. Scenic vistas from the Preserve provide glimpses of the main stem Russian River beyond the Preserve boundaries to the southeast with an overlook of the Mayacamas Mountains. The Preserve includes rolling hills and a long ridge supporting grasslands, oak woodlands, mixed forests, riparian scrub, and serpentine chaparral. The surrounding lands include vineyards, residential development, and open space.  A biodiverse wonderland, the preserve is home to a variety of natural communities, including deer, jackrabbit, bobcats, mountain lions, and more than 40 species of birds.  

What to bring:

• Bottle of water, snacks, and lunch for the day
• Comfortable clothing to stay warm throughout the day (dress in layers, beanie, scarf etc.)
• Comfortable walking shoes (that can get dirty)
• Any extra items you want for your wreath (see below for what we are providing)

Where we will meet you: 

Staff: 

Our staff is certified in the minimum of CPR and First Aid, and they have training and years of experience working in outdoor spaces. All staff has had their backgrounds checked through fingerprinting.

La caminata hasta el mirador donde se harán las coronas y se servirá sidra está a poco más de media milla desl comienzo del sendero, con poco desnivel. 

Sobre la área: 

Healdsburg Ridge es una propiedad de 155 acres ubicada al noreste de Healdsburg. Es una oportunidad cercana a casa para sumergirse en el mundo natural. Se encuentra dentro de la Cordillera Fitch y abarca las cabeceras de dos drenajes del río Russian.
