Sensory Immersion Hike at Lafferty Ranch
12/01/2024 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM PT
Description
Enjoy a leisurely hike and sensory immersion in the oak forests, open hillsides, and gurgling Adobe Creek at Lafferty Ranch. Along with fabulous views—of the Petaluma Valley, Mt. Tamalpais, Mt. Diablo, and San Francisco Bay— we’ll explore the land through a guided visualization, silent walking, and a guided and blindfolded sensory exploration. Led by Lafferty docents Bruce Schneider and Meg Beeler.
The hiking terrain ranges from broad, gentle meadows to steep challenging hillsides, passing through groves of venerable oak and bay trees along the Adobe Creek, with a total elevation gain of 500’. This is a joint hike with Landpath’s partner organization, Sonoma Mountain Preservation (SMP). We'll fill you in about the land’s history, SMP’s role in protecting Sonoma Mountain's wildlands, and how Petaluma's Lafferty Ranch project fits into the mountain’s preservation.
