03/16/2025 10:30 AM - 03:30 PM PT

Description

CANCELLED DUE TO RAIN

The pollinator and habitat garden at Ocean Song/Myers is a truly magical place. You are invited to experience the land as you help tend the garden, which is home to dozens of plant and animal species! Volunteer land stewardship days like this are the best way to experience Ocean Song Preserve, which is closed to public access.

What the day will look like:

  • 10:30am - 12pm - Care for the garden with Jan Lochner and other volunteers
  • 12pm - 12:30pm Lunch
  • 12:30 - 2pm - Care for the garden some more.
  • 2pm - 3pm - (optional) Hike around the preserve with Jan
About Ocean Song/Myers Preserve: Ocean Song-Myers is an iconic 800-acre protected preserve in west Sonoma County, off Coleman Valley Road, owned and stewarded by LandPaths. The land is the ancestral territory of the Southern Pomo people and the Coast Miwok people since time memorial. Learn more about Ocean Song here.

Where to Meet: We will meet in the parking area just outside the habitat garden in front of the large red-roofed barn at 10:30am sharp.

Directions: From the town of Occidental, head west on Coleman Valley Rd for 1.8 Miles. Turn right to remain on Coleman Valley Rd and continue an additional 3.4 miles to the main entrance to the preserve. Once you are out of the trees, pass the pond on the left, and have a view of the ocean,  turn left into the preserve at 19100 Coleman Valley Road. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ADDRESSES ARE NOT IN NUMERICAL ORDER ON COLEMAN VALLEY ROAD. Do not turn left until you see the address 19100 otherwise you will get lost and go down the wrong road.
