Stewardship Day at Ocean Song-Myers

Come on out to beautiful Ocean Song/Myers Preserve and help us tend the land! Volunteer land stewardship days are the best opportunity to experience the land at Ocean Song as it remains closed to public access. In stewarding the land in common purpose, we help to maintain healthy habitats, reduce the chances of catastrophic fire, and build a community connected with place. We have tasks for all skill levels and abilities.
Where to Meet: We'll meet at 10am at the large, red-roof barn next to the dirt parking lot.
Directions to Ocean Song
From the town of Occidental, head west on Coleman Valley Rd for 1.8 Miles. Turn right to remain on Coleman Valley Rd and continue an additional 3.4 miles to the main entrance to the preserve. Once you are out of the trees, pass the pond on the left, and have a view of the ocean, turn left into the preserve at 19100 Coleman Valley Road. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ADDRESSES ARE NOT IN NUMERICAL ORDER ON COLEMAN VALLEY ROAD. Do not turn left until you see the address 19100 otherwise you will get lost and go down the wrong road.

What to Bring With You:

Picnic lunch, snacks & plenty of water, backpack to hold your gear

Sturdy boots or shoes that can get muddy

Long pants recommended

Work gloves

Hat and sun screen
What else do you need to know?

You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.

No stewardship or volunteer workday experience is necessary!

There is a restroom on the property.

There is no potable water available on the property.

No pets or smoking.

No overnight camping allowed at the property.
If we need to cancel due to weather or other circumstances: You will immediately receive an email if the program gets cancelled. However, if you would like to confirm, check back on this post; it will say "CANCELLED" if the program is called off.
