This outing is bilingual (English/Spanish) and inclusive of LGBTQ2IA+ and BIPOC community members

You are invited for a special day of birding and caring for the land with LandPaths and the Sonoma County Feminist Bird Club at Ocean Song- Myers Preserve off Coleman Valley Road in Occidental! We'll spend the first part of the day going on a slow birding hike on the preserve. If you would prefer to hang out with one of our facilitators to sit and listen/watch the birds instead of of going on a hike, there will be a Sit and Bird option with one of our facilitators.

After a break for an early lunch, we'll spend a couple of hours completing stewardship tasks at the preserve as a way to give back to the land where the birds make their homes. The stewardship day will be led by LandPaths' staff with seasonal tasks adjusted to your ability level. We'll provide the gloves and tools!

This excursion is free and made possible by Sonoma County taxpayers, who fund the work of Ag+ Open Space with a quarter-cent sales tax.

What else do you need to know?

No stewardship or volunteer workday experience is necessary!
There is a restroom on the property.
There is no potable water available on the property. Bring your own water bottle filled with water.
No pets or smoking allowed.
No overnight camping allowed at the property.

Estás invitado a un día especial de observación de aves y cuidado de la tierra con LandPaths y el Sonoma County Feminist Bird Club en Ocean Song-Myers Preserve en Coleman Valley Road en Occidental.

Pasaremos la primera parte del día haciendo una caminata lenta de observación de aves en la reserva. Después de un descanso para un almuerzo temprano, pasaremos un par de horas haciendo cosas para ayudar a la tierra como una forma de retribuir al lugar donde las aves tienen sus hogares. También habrá una opción para sentarse y observar aves si prefiere pasar el rato con uno de nuestros facilitadores para sentarse y escuchar/observar a las aves en lugar de hacer una caminata.

Este día de cuidado de la tierra será dirigido por el personal de LandPaths y ayudarás con tareas de temporada ajustadas a tu nivel. ¡Te proporcionaremos los guantes y las herramientas!
