This session is located on the ancestral land of the Pomo people at Preston Farm and Winery, a 125-acre organic farm in Healdsburg’s Dry Creek Valley. The Preston family has stewarded the land over the last 45 years to create a diversified farm including vineyards, vegetables, fruit and olive trees, grain, and pastured livestock. Theme: Creeks, Critters, and Life on the Farm This week, campers will explore the rich diversity of life found on the farm and in the cool, salmon-bearing creeks that make this place so special. We will learn where food comes from as we plant, harvest, and taste organically grown fruits and vegetables. The week includes games, time with farm animals, discovering beneficial insects in the orchards, and creating projects with garden herbs and spending the afternoons exploring life in the creeks!
