Descripción: Acompáñenos a visitar la hermosa reserva Rancho Mark West, cerca de Santa Rosa. Exploraremos juntos los hermosos paisajes y caminaremos por senderos a través del magnífico bosque, el arroyo y el laguito. Observaremos de cerca lo que sucede en el suelo del bosque y alrededor del estanque después de que pasen las lluvias invernales y la luz del sol ayude a las plantitas a abrirse camino hacia el mundo. Vengan y formen parte de este programa especial donde combinamos la naturaleza, un poco de jardinería y curiosidad. Las familias con miembros con discapacidad motriz o neuro divergentes son más que bienvenidas a registrarse. ¡Esperamos verlos a usted y a toda su familia! Esta excursión es gratuita y es posible gracias a los contribuyentes del condado de Sonoma, que financian el trabajo de Ag + Open Space con un impuesto sobre las ventas de un cuarto de centavo.

Con senderos accesibles y proximidad a Santa Rosa, Rancho Mark West es nuestro salón de clases al aire libre, centro comunitario y lugar de refugio salvaje en las Montañas Mayacamas, a 20 minutos del centro de Santa Rosa. Transportación: Nos iremos en caravana pero también proveeremos transportación gratuita. El cupo es limitado a las primeras personas que se apunten.

Description: Join us at the beautiful Rancho Mark West Preserve near Santa Rosa. We'll explore the beautiful landscapes together and hike trails through the gorgeous forest, creek and pond. We'll get a close look at what happens on the forest floor and around the pond after winter rains pass & the sunshine helps the seedlings to make their way out the ground and into the world. Come and be part of this special program where we combine nature, a little gardening, and curiosity. Families who have members with mobility impairment and or are neuro-divergent are more than welcome to register. We look forward to seeing you and your whole family! This excursion is free and made possible by Sonoma County taxpayers, who fund the work of Ag + Open Space with a quarter-cent sales tax.

About the preserve: With accessible trails and its proximity to Santa Rosa, Rancho Mark West is our outdoor classroom, community center, and wilderness refuge in the Mayacamas Mountains, just 20 minutes from downtown Santa Rosa. This property is protected by the voters of Sonoma County, who funded the work of Sonoma County Ag+Open Space, in partnership with LandPaths and the Coastal Conservancy. Rancho Mark West is located on the ancestral home of the Southern Pomo and Mishewal people—past, present, and future. We recognize them as the first people and the original stewards of this land. We are on occupied territory and acknowledge the ongoing devastation of these peoples caused by colonization. Difficulty: Mostly easy. Includes some elevation gain in short segments.
What to bring:

Comfortable clothing and sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)

Comfortable walking shoes (that can get dirty)
Meeting point: Bayer Farm, 1550 West Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95407. Please arrive on time: 8:30 am
Transportation: We'll be traveling in a carpool/caravan, but we'll also provide free transportation. Space is limited to the first people who sign up.
Additional Details:
Our staff are certified in basic CPR and first aid, and have years of training and experience working in the wilderness. All staff and volunteers have undergone background checks, including fingerprinting.
