LandPaths Branch Out series centers LGBTQ+ community members and allies with the purpose of creating a sense of belonging and inclusive, welcoming spaces in the outdoors. Join our New Audiences team on a bike tour! We'll explore the landscapes on our way to Sebastopol. We'll start in downtown Santa Rosa and land at the Tomodachi Park in Sebastopol. When we arrive we'll enjoy our lunch together and participate in an activity filled with art, creativity, and self-expression. We look forward to seeing you and your whole family.

About the area: Tomodachi Park is approximately 8.7 acres and includes picnic tables, barbecues, a short trail segment, and native tree planting. The intent of the park design is to be a passive use park in the Laguna Preserve system. The park includes stately Valley Oaks and access to the Laguna channel. Tomodachi park has been protected by Ag + Open Space for recreation and preservation of its natural resources since 2013. Learn more about the Tomodachi Park here.
Difficulty: We will be traveling through the Joe Rodota Trail to reach our destination. A mostly easy, flat, and fully paved 8.5-mile trail (one way) connecting Santa Rosa and Sebastopol, with only ~144 feet of elevation gain. It is ideal for all skill levels and families. However, it can be very hot with warmer climate as it offeres little shade.
What to bring:

At least one water bottle, some snacks, and a lunch for the day

Comfortable clothing and sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)

Comfortable shoes for cycling for a while
Meeting point: Rollup Coffee, 121 5th St, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Please arrive on time: 8:30 am
Transportation: Please bring your own bicycles for the day. We will leave as a group and return as a group.
Additional Details:
Our staff are certified in basic CPR and first aid, and have years of training and experience working in the wilderness. All staff and volunteers have undergone background checks, including fingerprinting.

Sobre el parque:
El Parque Tomodachi tiene aproximadamente 8.7 acres e incluye mesas de picnic, parrillas, un pequeño sendero y plantación de árboles nativos. El diseño del parque busca ser un parque de uso pasivo dentro del sistema de la Reserva Laguna. El parque incluye majestuosos robles del valle y acceso al canal Laguna. Dificultad: Para llegar a nuestro destino recorreremos el sendero Joe Rodota. Un sendero mayormente fácil, de 13,6 km (solo ida), plano y totalmente pavimentado, que conecta Santa Rosa y Sebastopol, con solo 44 metros de desnivel positivo. Es ideal para todos los niveles y familias. Sin embargo, puede ser muy caluroso en climas más cálidos, ya que ofrece poca sombra.
Qué Traer:

Nuestro personal está certificada en lo minimo de Resucitación Cardiopulmonar y primeros auxilios, tienen capacitación y años de experiencia trabajando en la naturaleza. A todo el personal y los voluntarios se les ha revisado sus antecedentes por medio de huellas digitales.
