Birdwatching Hike at Bohemia Ecological Preserve

06/20/2026 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM PT

Description

Join volunteer docents Paloma and Lexi, along with bird enthusiast Scott Cambell, for a morning of birdwatching at Bohemia Ecological Preserve! Scott will lead the birdwatching portion of the hike. Please bring your own binoculars, though we'll have one pair to lend. We're hoping to spot and hear hermits, a variety of thrush, crows, ravens, turkey vultures, turkeys, woodpeckers, owls, red-shouldered hawks, and many more! The hike will be 2-miles total and at a moderate level of exertion.

About the Preserve: Bohemia Ecological Preserve is located on the ancestral homeland of the Pomo and the Coast Miwok people, past, present, and future. This 1,000 acre protected open space preserve stewarded by LandPaths in partnership with a private landowner, in the western hills of Sonoma County, is a land of old-growth forests, oak woodlands, and coastal meadows. The land is home to several endangered and at-risk species of flora and fauna, including northern spotted owls, red tree voles, and Pennell’s bird’s beak.
