Description

Hello community stewards,
Are you curious about Calvi Ranch, a beautiful preserve in West Sonoma County recently acquired by LandPaths? Now is your chance to help us tend this beautiful land and get to know it better. We'll be tending the forest at Calvi Ranch, which is vital for habitat creation and retention, ecosystem biodiversity, wildfire resilience. Most important, we'll have some fun!
We'll be looking at how to gauge forest health, how to safely prune and fell trees, how to build burn piles, species identification, and a deepening of our relationship with the land.
A sampling of possible tasks for the day:
- Hiking up and down moderate slopes
- Felling and limbing small trees and shrubs with small hand-saws and loppers
