Trail Building Day at Ocean Song

Help us build a trail at Ocean Song Preserve Well built trails allow us to create better access throughout the preserve while also taking into consideration the plants, animals, and waters that call this land home. What's a well built trail? Come out and we'll tell you everything you need to know! 

Tasks for the Day May Include:

• Hiking on and off trails
• Using long handle tools such as Mcleods, hoes, shovels, and rakes to shape trail
• Using loppers and hand saws to cut small brush alongside trail route

What to Bring With You: 

• Picnic lunch, snacks & plenty of water, backpack to hold your gear

• Sturdy boots or shoes that can get muddy

• Long pants recommended 

• Work gloves 

• Hat and sunscreen 

• Optional, if you have a favorite long handle tool of your own 

What else do you need to know? 

• You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.

• There will be a LandPaths A-Frame sign at the entrance where you enter.

• Ocean Song can be difficult to find using GPS with just the address. Use this location pin for more accurate directions. 

• No stewardship or volunteer workday experience is necessary! 

• There is no potable water available on the property.

• No pets or smoking. 

• Please carpool if possible!

If we need to cancel due to weather or other circumstances: You will immediately receive an email if the program gets cancelled. However, if you would like to confirm, check back on this post; it will say "CANCELLED" if the program is called off.
