Holiday Gathering at Rancho Mark West

LandPaths in partnership with Ag + Open Space and Friends of the Mark West Watershed invite you to join us in our 19th Annual Holiday Gathering at Rancho Mark West. All are invited to reconnect and de-stress with seasonal fun at this 120-acre forest property. Enjoy a short walk about 1 mile roundtrip on flat but, uneven ground next to the Mark West Creek, followed by music, wreath-making and a activities by the Sonoma County Library's BiblioBus! For everyone's wellbeing, instead of a potluck, this year we are asking folks to bring their own lunch and snacks to enjoy. This will be an open-house style event; all ages and abilities welcomed.

Place: The address will be sent out upon registration. 

Rancho Mark West is located on the ancestral territory of the Southern Pomo people and the Wappo people. Just 20 minutes from downtown Santa Rosa, Rancho Mark West is LandPaths' outdoor classroom, community hub, and place of refuge in the Mayacamas Mountains. LandPaths, with generous assistance from the California Coastal Conservancy, purchased Rancho Mark West in 2011. Under the purchase terms, Jim and Betty Doerkson, have a reserved life estate on the property. LandPaths and the Doerksens participate in this land ownership partnership as a way to love the land and engage the public forever, especially local children, through outings and outdoor education.

What to bring: Bring anything that will make your time outside with us more enjoyable. We recommend the following: 

• Your own lunch, snacks, water and utensils
• Comfortable walking shoes that can get dirty
• Dress in layers: bring a beanie, jacket/sweater
• Needle-nose pliers if you hve them and would like to make a wreath
• Musical instruments if you have them
• Any additions for your holiday wreath; LandPaths will provide the frame, foliage, stem wire and some ribbon

Other details: 

• You will be asked to sign a liability waiver upon arrival.
• There will be restrooms and handwashing stations around the property.
• We ask that there is no smoking on the property and that you leave your pets at home.
• In case of heavy rain, this event will be canceled. 
• At LandPaths we will continue to offer connections with the land and each other in creative ways, while rigorously following local Covid-19 safety protocols and policies. Reunión Navideña en Rancho Mark West

LandPaths, Ag + Open Space y Friends of the Mark West Watershed les invita a nuestro decimo noveno Encuentro Anual Navideño en Rancho Mark West. Están invitados a reconectarse y librarse del estrés con la diversión de temporada en esta propiedad de 120 acres. Disfrute de una caminata corta de aproximadamente 1 milla de ida y vuelta en un terreno plano pero desigual, junto al Arroyo Mark West, seguido de música, sidra caliente, cornonas decembrinas y actividades por el BiblioBus de la Biblioteca del Condado de Sonoma. Para el bienestar de todos, este año les pedimos a las personas que traigan su propio almuerzo y bocadillos para disfrutar. Este será un evento al estilo de puertas abiertas; todas las edades y habilidades son bienvenidas.

Este evento será estilo casa-abierta. Estaremos presente de las 10:00am-2:00pm.

Qué Traer: Lo que ocupe para estar cómodo. Recomendamos lo siguiente:

• su propio almuerzo y una botella de agua reusable con suficiente agua para usted y su familia
• zapatos cómodos para caminar que se puedan ensuciar
• vestirse en capas: traer sueter o chamarra
• instrumentos musicales 
• decoraciones para las coronas navideñas; LandPaths proporcionará el marco, follaje, alambre de tallo y algunos listones 

Otros Detalles: 

• Les pediremos que firmen un acuerdo de liberación de responsabilidad al comienzo del evento.
• No se permite fumar.
• Favor de dejar a sus mascotas en casa.
• Favor de notar que habrá baño en esta reserva y estaciones para lavarse las manos.
• En LandPaths continuaremos ofreciendo conexiones con la tierra y entre nosotros de manera creativa, mientras seguimos rigurosamente los protocolos y políticas de seguridad de Covid-19.
