Join LandPaths, Sonoma Ag + Open Space and Save the Readwoods League in celebrating the spring equinox at Rancho Mark West! Bring the whole family and enjoy connecting to the great outdoors. Take an opportunity to do some mental spring-cleaning by hiking along Mark West Creek (a flat, yet uneven 1 mile hike) or adventure up the hillside to bring love and song to recently burned Redwoods, Oaks, Madrones, and Doug firs (a 2-mile hike with around 800 feet in elevation gain and loss).  There will be plenty of activities for the kids, including water color painting, crafting corn husk dolls, and more!  We are excited to bring joy, song, and laughter to an area that was recently impacted by fire. Come and help us heal with the land, inspire new growth, and build community together.

Place: Rancho Mark West, 7125 St. Helena Rd. Santa Rosa CA 95404 

Rancho Mark West is located on the ancestral territory of the Southern Pomo people and the Wappo people. Just 20 minutes from downtown Santa Rosa, Rancho Mark West is LandPaths' outdoor classroom, community hub, and place of refuge in the Mayacamas Mountains. LandPaths, with generous assistance from the California Coastal Conservancy, purchased Rancho Mark West in 2011. Under the purchase terms, Jim and Betty Doerkson, have a reserved life estate on the property. LandPaths and the Doerksens participate in this land ownership partnership as a way to love the land and engage the public forever, especially local children, through outings and outdoor education.

What to bring: Bring anything that will make your time outside with us more enjoyable. We recommend the following: 

• Your own lunch, snacks, water and utensils
• Comfortable walking shoes that can get dirty
• Dress in layers: bring a beanie, jacket/sweater
• Musical instruments if you have them

Other details: 

• You will be asked to sign a liability waiver upon arrival.
• There will be restrooms and handwashing stations around the property.
• We ask that there is no smoking on the property and that you leave your pets at home.
• In case of heavy rain, this event will be canceled. 
• At LandPaths we will continue to offer connections with the land and each other in creative ways, while rigorously following local Covid-19 safety protocols and policies. ¡Únase a LandPaths, Sonoma Ag + Open Space y Save the Redwoods League para celebrar el equinoccio de primavera en Rancho Mark West! Traiga a toda la familia y disfrute de la conexión con el aire libre. Aproveche la oportunidad de hacer una limpieza general mental al caminar a lo largo de Mark West Creek (una caminata plana pero irregular de 1 milla) o aventúrese por la ladera para llevar amor y canciones a secoyas, encinos, madroños y doug firs recientemente quemados. ¡Habrá muchas actividades para jóvenes, que incluyen pintura con acuarelas, elaboración de muñecos de hojas de maíz y más! Estamos emocionados de traer alegría, canciones y risas a un área que recientemente fue afectada por un incendio. Ven y ayúdanos a sanar con la tierra, inspirar un nuevo crecimiento y construir una comunidad en unión.

Qué Traer:

• Lo que ocupe para estar cómodo. Recomendamos lo siguiente:
• su propio almuerzo y una botella de agua reusable con suficiente agua para usted y su familia
• zapatos cómodos para caminar que se puedan ensuciar
• vestirse en capas: traer sueter o chamarra en caso de clima inesperado
• instrumentos musicales si los tiene

Otros Detalles:

• Les pediremos que firmen un acuerdo de liberación de responsabilidad al comienzo del evento.
• No se permite fumar.
• Favor de dejar a sus mascotas en casa.
• Favor de notar que habrá baño en esta reserva y estaciones para lavarse las manos.
• En LandPaths continuaremos ofreciendo conexiones con la tierra y entre nosotros de manera creativa, mientras seguimos rigurosamente los protocolos y políticas de seguridad de Covid-19.
