Watercolors, Watersheds, and Wildflowers
Bohemia Ecological Preserve
Saturday, May 14th, 10am-3pm
Join LandPaths and local naturalist David Berman as we journey through the hillsides and ravines of Bohemia Preserve. Hiking along the various tributaries and waterways, we will follow waters pathway down to beautiful Dutch Bill Creek. Along the way, we will document our journey through nature journaling, observations, and water color paintings, taking in the scenery and seasonal wildflowers as we go. As a group, we will hike, learn, eat a meal, and explore together. Watercolor materials will be provided but you may bring your own if you'd like.

Location: Bohemia Ecological Preserve, 6773 Bohemian Hwy, Occidental, CA 95465
We will meet at 10am at the Bohemia Ecological Preserve, 6773 Bohemian Highway, just past Westminster Woods. From the intersection of Graton Road and Bohemian Highway in Occidental, travel approximately 3 miles north on Bohemian Highway. The Preserve is on the right-hand side (if you are coming from Occidental) & looks like a quarry. Watch for staff or volunteers located at Bohemian Highway to direct you to parking!
What to bring:

Sturdy boots or shoes shoes for hiking

Weather appropiate clothing- sun hat, sunscreen, etc.

A picnic lunch, snacks & water

Binoculars, cameras, and hiking poles if you'd like

Details and what to expect:

This hike will be led by Volunteer Bohemia Docent and Naturalist David Berman and LandPaths' staff member Benji Dambach

Please come prepared for a hike over moderate terrain with some steep sections, about 3-4 miles.

There is one porta-potty on the property (2/3 mile into our hike). There is no potable water available on the property.

No pets or smoking are permitted and absolutely no smoking pets!

We will stay together as a group & leave together. Early departures cannot be accommodated except in case of medical emergency.

What if it's raining? Any steady rainfall beyond sprinkles will call for cancellation. If in doubt please call (707) 544-7284 (then press 1) after 6:30 AM on the day of the outing. If there is no special message the event is on!
