LandPaths invites you on a coastal exploration in Stillwater Cove Regional Park, north of Fort Ross and south of Salt Point State Park. We'll hike along a creek through a redwood forest and enjoy a beautiful beach at the end of the hike. This fun and relaxing outing is perfect for the whole family.

You are invited to experience the land as you help tend the pollinator and habitat garden at Ocean Song-Myers Preserve, which is home to dozens of plant and animal species! 

Activities depend on the season, and might include pruning, mulching, mowing or other seasonal needs. Your abilities will guide the task!  Volunteer land stewardship days like this are the best way to experience Ocean Song Preserve, which is closed to public access. The day will be led by LandPaths' wonderful volunteer garden steward Jan Lochner.

The Spring equinox brings longer days and wildflowers to Lafferty Ranch Open Space on upper Sonoma Mountain. Join docent Larry Modell, a long-time advocate for public open space, to explore this unique property and discuss its future.

Come on out and help us prepare the garden. We need all hands on deck to get the plants into the ground so they can start growing before the kids arrive on the land!

Join LandPaths, Sonoma Ag + Open Space for a celebration of the spring equinox at Rancho Mark West! Hikes, potluck, Danza Xantotl, Sonoma County Pomo Dancers, music in the garden, kid's activities, and a special program honoring Omar Gallardo.

Come celebrate the first day of spring with a hike and exploration of the beautiful Bohemia Ecological Preserve! We will hike through mixed conifer forests & native coastal prairies, culminating in the incredible view from 'Top of the world'. You're invited to this scenic exploration at Lafferty Ranch, Petaluma! We'll hike a trail through the beautiful forest and watch the reserve's meadows glow as the sun sets. We'll have the opportunity to use binoculars and telescopes to appreciate the views of the valley and as far as the horizon allows. We'll also participate in a decorative and artistic activity throughout the outing. Come and be part of this special program where we combine nature, art, and sunset viewing. This fun and relaxing outing is perfect for the whole family.

Be a community scientist! Help us learn more about the species that live on this preserve. This information will be added to our preserve's species list and will help information management decisions and educational opportunities in the future. During this day, we will catalog as many species as possible for this preserve. Naturalists and nature-lovers of all experiences and ages are welcome. You do not need to have previous experience with species identification or iNaturalist. Our staff will teach you how to use iNaturalist and how to identify a variety of species. iNaturalists' robust audience of naturalists and its AI image analysis software can also help us with some of the more difficult classifications that our staff can't identify.

Join us at the beautiful Rancho Mark West Preserve near Santa rosa. We'll get a close look at what happens on the forest floor and around the pond after winter rains pass & the sunshine helps the seedlings to make their way out the ground and into the world. Come and be part of this special program where we combine nature, a little gardening, and curiosity.
Families who have members with mobility impairment and or are neuro-divergent are more than welcome to register. We look forward to seeing you and your whole family!

Join us for a photo exploration of the beautiful Bohemia Ecological Preserve! We’ll hike on trails through native coastal prairies and mixed conifer forests while covering the basics of outdoor photography using your smart phone, pocket camera, or DLSR.

Fast paced and hands-on, this two day course covers a wide range of wilderness medicine topics for people who travel and work in the outdoors. This course is pre-approved by such organizations as: the American Camping Association, the United States Forest Service, and other governmental agencies. It may also be used for wilderness medicine recertification by those with previous training from WMI of NOLS.

Join volunteer docents Emily Wolf McMane, a certified Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and Lindsey Dyer, outdoor educator, for a Forest Therapy Hike at Bohemia Ecological Preserve. Forest therapy is based on the Japanese practice, shinrin-yoku, which can be translated as "forest bathing” or “taking in the atmosphere of the forest.” Walks typically last 2.5-3 hours depending on the number of participants. While this walk is not a hike, we will be traversing some rocky and steep terrain, so please prepare for a moderate difficulty level. Participants are welcome to bring a bag lunch. There will be time at the end of the experience to picnic by the creek. These walks are appropriate for adults and older teens. Please find other arrangements for small children and pets.

Have you ever been inspired by the nature around you? Or been wanting to paint or draw outdoors? If so, this adventure is for you. In this outing we will have a relaxed, slow walk, get to a destination where we will have a moment of artistic creativity, and as always, we will have lunch as a community.
